Chord DESTINY POWER : Episode 17

...As the years go by, Mwaba becomes a billionaire as a medical practitioner and chief Medical Director of his hospital. There is an advert in a newspaper for employment in Mwaba's hospital. All applicants submit their application forms. Stella is one of the three applicants screened and considered qualified for interview. Lucky knocking and opening the door with some files in her right hand.
Lucky :::: These are the files, Sir… Dropping them on the table.


Mwaba :: How many applicants are qualified for the vacancies??
Lucky::: They are three in number. A lady has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, first class honour, from UNZA while the remaining two men have second class upper division in Business Administration.
Mwaba ::: Call the lady in.
Lucky::: (kneeling) Alright, Sir. She opens the door and leaves. A few minutes after, Stella knocks and opens the door. She looks very beautiful in her black shoes with a pair of spectacles resting on her nose. She is a real cynosure of all eyes.


Stella :::: (kneeling to greet) Good morning, Sir.
Mwaba raised his head with the spectacles on his face and is surprised to see Stella. She doesn’t recognise Mwaba any more.
Mwaba ::: (reciprocates) Good morning, you are welcome. Please be seated.
Stella ::: (she sits) Thank you, Sir.
Mwaba ::: Can I meet you?
Stella :: My name is Stella Bwalya and my course of study is accounting.
Mwaba ::: What do you understand by management?


Stella ::: Management is an organization controls the internal and external affairs of a business by preparing directing, planning and organising people in order to attain business objectives.
Mwaba ::: As a professional Accountant, what is the role of accounting information to management?
Stella ::: The need for managers to be properly informed whenever they plan and control the resources of a firm cannot be overemphasized. A management accounting system is the management information which analyses the past, present and the future data to fit the varieties of different problems confronting the managers.


Mwaba ::: (nodding his head in agreement) That’s good. What’s your denomination??Stella ::: I’m a born again Christian.
Mwaba ::::(smiling) You ladies of these days acclaim yourselves to be born again. The former secretary of this firm that embezzled Fifty thousand kwacha called herself a born again.
Stella ::: Bad people corrupt the good ones. I’m not that type of a person. I promise to be honest, faithful and trustworthy in the course of the service if given an opportunity.
Mwaba ::: How many companies have you worked with?


Stella ::: I worked as a secretary at New Generation Films Movement for few years. Shortly after my service year, I worked in the General Hospital as a Clerk.
Mwaba ::(picking her file and glancing through the curriculum vitae) You passed out from Kamenza High School?
Stella :: Yes, Sir.
Mwaba :: Do you know Mitondo High School?
Stella ::: The secondary school is very close to Mine market behind man power training school.


Mwaba ::: (nodding his head) Yes, you are correct. I passed out from there in 2006.
Stella ::: Sir, do you know Mwaba, the Senior Prefect?
Mwaba :: Yes of course, Mwaba is a good school friend. It seems as if you snapped a photograph with us on our graduation day?Stella ::: (nodding her head and smiling) Yes, boss. You have recognition abilities. (they burst into laughter)
Mwaba ::: You can see that life is like a stream that flows into different directions and later unite as one. It’s a pleasure meeting You. (stretching out his hand)
Stella ::: (kneeling and shaking his hand) Thank you, Sir.
Mwaba ::: You are welcome.


 She opens the door and leaves. A few months later, the successful applicants are invited to collect their letters of appointment. Based on their Academic and excellent performances in the interview, they were appointed as Clerical staff and Secretary respectively. Stella was adjudged the best candidate and so was appointed as the Secretary of the hospital.
Mwaba ::: (in Mwaba's office) On behalf of the management of this hospital, I offer you these letters of appointment. (With handshakes, he gives them their letters on after the other). We seriously need your support and co-operation toward the development of this hospital.


Stella ::: On behalf of my colleagues, we thank you so much sir. We promise that we will never disappoint you, and we pledge to abide by the management. We appreciate you sir.
Mwaba ::: You are all welcome.
Stella :::: Sir, you forgot to tell us your name.
Mwaba ::: Oh! I’m sorry. I’m Mwaba T Kalanda by name…Stella collapses and sustains an injury on her forehead. Blood oozes profusely and she is quickly attended to by the nurses.
